The Highland Manor Apopka Wedding Photographers

This is a fun one, we’re so excited to talk about this wedding!  Photographer Steven, second photographer Michael, and assistant Jake had such an amazing time capturing Lisa and Kevin’s wedding day at The Highland Manor in Apopka! Lisa and Kevin are so beyond special to us! We took them to Eastern Oregon for their Starry Night Session back in August. Check out their blog posts from their first time experiencing a starry night, and exploring Eastern Oregon!  Lisa and Kevin have such a fun relationship, they are both such great people and work VERY well together, so throwing Steven and Michael in the backseat during their road trip was an easy add.  We absolutely became friends with them during this trip, which made their wedding so much more like photographing best friends than actually working 🙂.

For the wedding day, they both got ready onsite at the Hilton Garden Inn Apopka City Center next door, then made their way over to The Highland Manor for final prep and first looks.  For the ladies, we captured hair and makeup by Kristy’s Artistry Design wrapping up and got photos of Lisa and her girls in matching pj’s before getting in their beautiful dresses from Bella Bridesmaids, and Lisa’s from Maggie Sottero – Minerva’s Bridal. Once they were dressed, Lisa did a reveal to her bridesmaids first, which was super sweet, and we loved their reactions!  Now before Lisa and Kevin saw each other in their first look reveal, Lisa surprised Kevin with a fake first look with his best man, dressed in a wedding dress, and Kevin’s expression was priceless!  Once everyone was ready, Lisa and Kevin had their first look right before the ceremony, and we grabbed some portraits of them both, the wedding party, and squeezed in some family portraits before guests started arriving. Then, it was time for the ceremony!

Of course, their ceremony was setup under Highland’s gorgeous old live oak tree, officiated by Glynn Ferguson of Sensational Ceremonies. Lisa walked down the aisle with her dad and also son Starr, Kevin and Lisa exchanged their personalized vows to each other, and notice when Kevin surprised Lisa with a glow ring in the ring box during ceremony LOL!  They of course kissed to seal the deal, and we have never seen them more happy! We also loved the extra touch of fun with the steel drum players, CocoBean, Inc., who played during the ceremony and through cocktail hour! Following the ceremony, we immediately captured a group photo in front of The Highland Manor House with all of their guests at once. Now, it was time to celebrate and party!

Lisa, Kevin, and their wedding party entered the reception in fashion, had their first dance as husband and wife, and enjoyed some delicious food by Dubsdread Catering. The ballroom was decorated with beautiful florals by Lee Forrest Design, draping by W Draping, and the chairs and chargers by A Chair Affair!  Plus the room glowed with uplighting by Soundwave Entertainment!  Also, since Kevin is a pilot, notice the signs at their sweetheart table, and their travel-themed invitations! After dinner, guests danced with DJ Les of Soundwave Entertainment keeping the party going all night long! Once Lisa and Kevin got a little jiggy with it, we snuck them outside for night shots in front of the oak tree that they (and we) love! After the night portraits, everyone enjoyed and celebrated Lisa and Kevin by dancing the night away!  To Lisa and Kevin, the entire wedding process with you both was so much fun, and we can’t wait to continue our friendship!  This has been such a fun journey, and can’t wait to be there for future moments too!  We wish you nothing but love and happiness in your future! :)
