Photographer Steven and his assistant John had a great time capturing Sarah and Chris’ wedding at Historic Venue 1902! This venue is so beautiful and unique! It was once a schoolhouse, and it is now a wedding venue with the perfect balance of vintage character and modern features. On the wedding day, Steven and John started off the day capturing the bridal prep at their suites on the first floor of the school. They crafted and captured a flat lay with Sarah’s bridal details, and floral also brought some extra pieces for us, which we always love! They then stepped over to Chris’s room and captured his many Scottish details. He was fully dressed in kilt, and was very handsome! After that, once Sarah was in the dress, she gave her bridesmaids their gifts which were custom handkerchiefs with funny quotes on them. Look at those reactions! We then took Chris outside and set him up for the first look, which is when Chris sees Sarah for the first time in her dress. Florida unfortunately gave us a windy day, but we are always prepped with being very crafty with our photo locations outside. Once Sarah was ready, she came out and we captured this special moment outside. After wiping away some tears, we brought out the bridal party and took some fun portraits around the venue followed by some couples portraits. After that, it was time for the ceremony!
The ceremony was held in the back courtyard and lead by Victoria Licata. They incorporated personal vows, a ring exchange, and a hand fasting ceremony, which involves wrapping a rope around their hands and pulling a knot together at the end. Sarah and Chris were now married! Directly after this, we captured family portraits, and headed upstairs into the old cafeteria room of the school for their reception! Our DJ Rocks provided uplights which added a great glow to the room. The couple also did a mini scavenger hunt for their guests to find their favorite characters and trinkets from their personalities, like Star Trek, Stardew Valley, and Pokemon characters scattered and hidden throughout the venue. This was so unique, and it gave their guests something fun to do! They also had Polaroid cameras for their guests to capture their own creative photos around the reception. After everyone was seated, Sarah and Chris shared a great first dance, and in honor of Sarah’s time as a flight attendant, she and her sister gave a wedding welcome to everyone with specific instructions about the nearest exits and what to expect through the night lol! The guests enjoyed a dinner catered by Premier Event Services, it was so delicious! Afterwards, a few family members gave toasts, and then we captured the parent dances. Then, it was time to party on the dance floor! After a few songs of dancing, Steven and John snuck Sarah and Chris out for a handful of night shots, then they ended the night with a super fun sparkler sendoff with their guests. We particularly loved how they incorporated a lot of 80s music into their reception, and it flowed so well. We loved their playlist! To Sarah and Chris, we had so much fun capturing your special day! We wish you a lifetime full of love and happiness!
