Wedding photographer Steven recently traveled up to South Carolina to capture Kathryn and Chavis’s engagement session! These two are great friends of ours, and we knew this session was going to be full of laughs and great photo spots! We began their session right in their own neighborhood, so we could include their pups Scotty and Sofia! They were actually very cooperative, and with a little patience, we had everyone looking right at the camera! After some fun with the puppies, we proceeded to Downtown Beaufort, SC! Beaufort already has its own historic, colonial charm, not including some Hollywood locations from the Forrest Gump movie! We walked around the historic streets and their Waterfront Park, but we were getting very close to sunset! We hopped back into the car, and sped over to Hunting Island State Park before the sun went down! This park has done an amazing job recovering and cleaning up post-hurricane, and we loved walking Kathryn and Chavis along the beach and in the forest just a bit! Check out the fun sunset silhouette portraits towards the end, we were photographing with all available sunlight!
Once the sky got dark, Kathryn and Chavis wanted to watch the stars appear, considering how decently far Hunting Island State Park is from nearby light polluted towns! Believe it or not, we got a clear view of the milky way overhead, and HAD to photograph them under it! We’re glad we could capture some bonus dark sky portraits under the South Carolina night sky!! Thank you two so much for hiking us up to SC for such a memorable session, we hope you enjoy this sneak peek!
