Photographer Nelson had such a wonderful time capturing Christina and Derek’s wedding day at Highland Manor in Apopka! He started off the day greeting Christina and immediately gathering all the details for her bridal flat lay: invitations, rings, jewelry, etc. As Christina and her bridal crew were finishing up their hair and makeup, Nelson moved over to where Derek and his groomsmen were getting ready. He noticed Derek had given his groomsmen pocket knives as gifts, so he made sure to grab a vignette of that; how cool! After hair and makeup was completed, Nelson captured Christina and her bridal crew all glammed up in their custom PJ’s made with their custom initials! Next, Christina’s Mom and Maid of Honor helped with final touchups of the dress. After putting on her gorgeous dress, it was time for the first look where Derek and Christina see each other for the first time on the wedding day! When Derek turned around and looked at Christina, you could feel the emotion and excitement seeing his bride for the very first time on the wedding day! Derek gave Christina a little twirl, and with excitement gave each other a sweet kiss! They then roamed around the property for a few bride and groom portraits, then took photos with the wedding party as well. We even got a few photos with the famous Highland Manor turtle, Brutus, and then it was time for the ceremony!
The ceremony took place under the iconic large oak tree we all know and love at Highland! Christina and Derek’s friend, Aidan Augustin was the officiant. It is always so special to have one of your friends or family members officiate at your ceremony since they can share jokes and some personal stories about the couple! After Christina and Derek said their I Do’s, they made it official with a kiss!
After enjoying some time at cocktail hour, it was time to party! DJ Danny Garcia made sure the dance floor was packed all night with some kicking music! The bride, groom, and their guests also enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Dubsdread Catering. Then it was time for cake cutting! This cake cutting was unique because the bride and groom cut the cake with their grandfather’s sword! As the night came to an end, the couple shared a private last dance as their guests were preparing for their bubble exit! Congratulations to Christina and Derek, we had such a blast capturing your special day! We wish you nothing but love and happiness in your future!
