Every year, millions of record and vinyl audiophiles get up and start their early morning (or previous afternoon and evening) waiting at most record store doors for this once-a-year release party! Today was the Day here in Audubon Park Garden District, our local hood! Guests began lining up in front of Park Ave CDs the night before, and actually camped out! Talk about true record and vinyl passion! Blue Bird Bake Shop was setup bright and early providing coffee and baked goods for the line of fans, and Park Ave CD’s was stocked full of rare, special Record Store Day released records and merchandise, just waiting to be purchased!! Park Ave also provided a live DJ and t-shirt printing in their parking lot for those waiting outside! It was cool seeing that most people in line had notes on which records they’re hoping they can score. The very first people in line got to enjoy the entire store to themselves for about 5 minutes, since they’d been waiting at the door since the night before! After that, the floodgates were open, and everyone started grabbing the records they’ve been waiting for! Check out the cool Africa picture disc by Toto, that was definitely a hot item! Tom and Dan were hosting their podcast right outside, with special guests Sublime with Rome, who were signing autographs and hosting a head-banging contest! Redlight Redlight was providing the food and drinks for the patient line-goers throughout the day as well! Happy Record Store Day everyone, we can’t wait for the next one here in Orlando’s coolest Main Street!!
