Orlando Science Center Wedding Photographer

Wedding Photographer Steven Miller and his assistant John had THE best time capturing Lauren and Daniel’s wedding at the Orlando Science Center! We met Lauren and Daniel at their engagement session at Rollins College and learned about their love for charcuterie, wine, and Star Wars, which they tastefully incorporated into their wedding day! We began the wedding day with Lauren and Daniel’s preparations at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Orlando, right after the ladies had their hair and makeup done at Jailene at Spa Bar. Photographer Steven crafted a beautiful flat lay with their wedding details and extra florals from In Bloom Florist. Flat lays are always a great way to display all of your wedding details such as invitations, save-the-dates, rings, and jewelry all in one photo! Steven and assistant John then raced over to the Orlando Science Center to prepare for their first look. Now here’s why you book a professional photographer…the venue wasn’t open to the wedding vendors/party until later in the afternoon, so to make great use of a wedding timeline, we had the couple and their bridal party park in the parking garage across the street, and we instead captured their first look, bridal party, family, AND personal portraits across the street under the canopy of Orlando’s gorgeous historic Mayor Oak Tree! This was the time Lauren and Daniel saw each other for the first time, and they even did a gift exchange and read vows in private, which was quite a tearful moment for us all! After wiping away the tears and touching up makeup, Lauren and Daniel posed for family photos, and to be honest, capturing family portraits before the ceremony is sometimes difficult when family members don’t show up on time, but they all rocked it and we captured every single shot on the list! Everyone then moved over to capture bridal party and personal portraits, and after wrapping up portraits, it was time for the wedding ceremony!

The ceremony took place on the Orlando Science Center’s rooftop terrace, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Lauren’s aunt was the officiant and led their ceremony consisting of a wine ceremony (which is similar to a sand ceremony) and a kiss to seal the deal! As guests were ushered into cocktail hour filled with fun science exhibits, we kept Lauren and Daniel on the rooftop for some gorgeous sunset portraits and one of our signature double exposures (total surprise for them!) After this, Lauren and Daniel joined cocktail hour as we captured their reception details in the Dino Digs section of the science center. Check out Stan the Tyrannosaurus Rex who is front row and center for reception intros! DJ Mike of DJ Live Productions did a fabulous job of up lighting the room, including the dinosaurs! Although this room is not an easy room to photograph, we always bring equipment necessary to capture the room correctly, especially off-camera lighting! We always let our couples know that when they are researching photographers, make sure to check out their indoor photographs and make sure their photographers know how to light it correctly! We definitely brought our off-camera lighting to make sure everyone was in their best light. After capturing room shots, it was time to kick off the reception with Lauren and Daniel’s first dance! The reception was full of fun moments including the parent dances, a delicious dinner catered by Premier Event Services, speeches, and of course DJ Live Productions rocking the party all night! After spending some time on the dance floor, we snuck Lauren and Daniel in front of Stan and also in the skyway bridge for some fun night portraits. They were such good sports for letting us steal them for so long! The couple then shared a private last dance while guests were setting up for their grand exit outside. Lauren and Daniel said goodbye to their guests as they were sent off with bubbles! Lauren and Daniel, we appreciate you both for being such an amazing couple! We wish you both nothing but love and happiness in the future!
