Fernandina Beach Wedding Photography

Photographers Steven and Michael had such an amazing time capturing Alexia and Bradley’s gorgeous wedding at the Omni Amelia Island Resort! Steven and assistant Michael both traveled all the way from Orlando to Fernandina Beach for this special occasion! Alexia’s sister Lynnea booked us for her wedding back in 2017, and it was so sweet when Alexia told us that she knew we’d be her photographers too. We honestly feel like family to them now, and it was like a reunion on Alexia’s big day. To meet the groom Bradley and get them both comfortable in front of the camera, Photographer Steven took a trip to Fernandina Beach last year to capture their engagement session. We learned very quickly how perfect they are together, and they’re both basically local celebrities in that area, so they were saying hi left and right to other people throughout the engagement session!

Fast-forwarding to their wedding day, Steven began meeting Alexia, bridesmaids, and her wedding planner at the Amelia Plantation Chapel, where the ceremony was going to be, and Photographer Michael met Bradley at their rental house at the Omni Amelia Island Resort. Steven gathered all of the bridal details and carefully crafted a flat lay showcasing all of the wedding day details as Alexia put on her gorgeous gown by Maggie Sottero! Once Alexia was dressed and ready to go, we captured a first look with Alexia and her dad, then with her bridesmaids. We LOVE these first looks, as they are so genuine and the reactions we capture are so meaningful to us! Tears were definitely shed during these special moments. We then tucked Alexia back inside and brought out Bradley to capture their first look together! This was such a sweet moment shared between just them both; one of the only moments on a wedding day they can share together in peace and solitude! Steven and assistant Michael then captured all of their bridal party photos, then came back together for personal portraits and most family portraits before it was time to head back inside for their ceremony. The pastor, Conrad Sharps, said a quick pre-ceremony prayer, then we all headed into the chapel for the ceremony! To begin, Bradley got baptized, then the couple did their ring exchange, exchanged vows, and shared kiss of course to seal the deal! After all of the excitement, we then captured additional family portraits and extra personal portraits at the golf course before we all drove over to the main Omni Resort for their ballroom reception to celebrate!

The first thing Steven and photographer Michael did when they arrived to the ballroom was capture the beautiful room details such as floral arrangements by Island Flower, Lighting by SJ, and more decor from the Omni! The couple and Alexia’s parents then did a room reveal and we captured their reactions! Alexia surprised her dad with a small dog ornament on their wedding cake, as their family dog Blue recently passed away, so this was such a sweet surprise for him to see. Check out the jellybean bar, as Bradley (and now Alexia’s) last name is Bean, so they definitely had fun with this! We found that a few guests also had bean-themed socks, so we made sure to grab shots of those! After all of their guests were seated, Alexia and Bradley shared a first dance which was so sweet. The Omni then served a delicious dinner, the couple cut their wedding cake, a few family members and friends gave speeches, and Alexia and Bradley danced with their parents. After this, it was time to party! DJ Mike with Island Sounds kicked it off with some tunes and everyone was on the dance floor, and they eventually added some glowsticks which added a lot of beautiful color! Steven and Michael were able to sneak Alexia and Bradley out for some night portraits under the old oak trees! A huge shoutout goes to Magmod for these portraits! Without this tool, the awesome lighting techniques would not be possible! After capturing some epic night portraits, we brought them back inside and shortly after, they said goodbye to their guests through a fun sea of bubbles during the grand exit! We have to give a special shout out to Alison and her team for such amazing wedding planning from day one! We wish you nothing but love and happiness in your future, and can’t wait to see you guys again sometime, especially the next time we’re in Fernandina Beach!
