Photographer Steven and 2nd photographer Mike had such an awesome time capturing Rachel and Jake’s wedding at the Dr. Phillips Center! We were super excited for this one, not to mention how sweet Rachel and Jake are! Dr. Phillips Center has become an iconic center for Downtown Orlando, and an AMAZING place for a wedding. They started off the day at the Towneplace Suites for their wedding preparations, and once each of them was ready, they hopped on their uncle’s shuttle bus to the venue. Steven captured Rachel’s bridal preparations, assembled and captured a quick flat lay of her bridal details, and took dress shots at the hotel. As soon as everyone was prepped, it was time to head over to Dr. Phillips Center for their wedding ceremony! There were super cool ‘backstage’ prep rooms behind the ceremony theatre, which gave our images a traditional theatre vibe! The ceremony was held in the Pugh Theatre within Dr Phillips Center, and they incorporated both Catholic and Jewish traditions into their ceremony. It was led by both a pastor and a rabbi and included the signing of the ketubah, exchanging vows, rings, sipped wine, and Jake broke the glass at the very end. With that, Rachel and Jake were officially married!
Following the ceremony, Photographer Steven captured family portraits, and bridal party portraits outside in between the rain, and some personal bride and groom portraits. During this time, second photographer Mike captured their cocktail hour upstairs on the 5th floor, with background music provided by a saxophone player which added so much ambience! Mike also captured room shots in the Devoss Room for their reception. This is what makes having two photographers worth it, we can be in two places at one time! The reception was decorated so beautifully with so many flowers on the table from Fairbanks Florist and an awesome overhead floral display provided by Dr Phillips Center, while Meister Productions provided the uplighting which gave such a romantic glow to the room. After the portraits, it was time for the reception to get started!
Steven and Mike captured their introductions, first dance, and challah bread cutting/blessing before dinner. Jake the groom said a few personal words to their guests as well, which was super sweet and genuine. After this, we snuck them outside for some portraits before the sun went down on the lawn and on the rooftop terrace! After enjoying a delicious dinner, Meister Productions kicked off the party and everyone was on the dance floor! Stephanie the wedding planner provided fun glasses and hats to really accent the party vibe later in the evening. We snuck Rachel and Jake out again for night shots outside in front of the venue before we said goodbyes. We must give a special shoutout to Anthony and Kristin from Cona Studios for wedding videography all day, and Stephanie and Emma with Stephanie Nicole Events who kept things on track throughout the wedding! We loved working with all of these vendors! A special shout out goes to Laura with Dr Phillips Center, she was so helpful in logistics, planning, and execution around the venue. She is an absolute rockstar! To Rachel and Jake, we had such a great time capturing your special day! We wish you nothing but love and happiness in your future!
