Photographer Steven Miller and assistant Anthony had such a wonderful and magical time capturing Alex and Jarah’s wedding day at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! After photographing their engagement session together at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, we already felt like great friends by the time their big day arrived which made everything feel so natural and fun! AND, just wait until you see all of the beautiful details they sprinkled throughout the wedding. We kicked off the day at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, capturing the couple’s preparations in their hotel rooms. Everyone was finishing up their makeup with the help of their machete mirror from Jeffrey Star Cosmetics, and hair was done by Curl Up & Dye. Meanwhile, their room was buzzing with excitement, and a lot of Alex’s friends are in the culinary world so they had a room full of tasty homemade treats as snacks!
Once Alex and Jarah were ready, they each shared emotional first looks with their parents. Jarah’s took place in front of the iconic 101 Dalmatians TV scene, and Alex’s was staged in the Toy Story area. Both moments were so touching. You can just feel how much love and happiness their parents have for the two of them and their marriage. Even Photographer Steven and Anthony teared up, it was hard not to! From there, they all headed to Disney’s Grand Floridian’s lobby to prepare for the couple’s first look in front of the giant Christmas tree! Alex pulled a fast one on Jarah, they held up a giant Stitch plush for the first look and Jarah’s reaction was priceless! It’s moments like these that really give us a great look into their relationship and why they love each other so much. After their first look, we strolled over to Disney’s Wedding Pavilion for portraits, making the most of the daylight on the Winter Solstice (the shortest day of the year!) The setting sun added a warm glow to their portraits, which we always adore and try to capture with great Florida weather. We then returned to the Grand Floridian lobby to photograph family and their wedding party named the Tenacious 10 and Fab 5s. Next up was their ceremony at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion led by their friend, Ruben Montano-Perez. The ceremony included a unity candle, breaking of the glass, personal vows (of course more tears), a hand-fasting ceremony, and of course the ring exchange! After sealing the deal with a kiss, Alex and Jarah ran out of the pavilion in excitement, and caught the very end of the holiday fireworks show over Magic Kingdom, and the look on their faces were priceless! They were so happy to be married!
The reception was held in the Disney’s Grand Floridian Salon Ballroom, and we LOVED their attention to detail and their decor! A winter theme set the tone, accented by personal touches and a ton of Disney references! The guests’ tables were beautifully decorated by cute centerpieces and we loved the plate settings. The room had a gobo with their name on the wall, which was a great backdrop for their dances! The party kicked off with a choreographed first dance by Alex and Jarah, and they absolutely ROCKED IT! They also shared heartfelt dances with their parents that left everyone in tears (oh yeah, we cried again). Everyone then enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by toasts and speeches! During the reception, guests enjoyed decorating their own ornaments at a special ornament station. The Disney cake was a showstopper, featuring Dumbo and Stitch in cute scenes, Disney did such a great job with the cake! The photo booth backdrop was placed behind the sweetheart table which was a hit with guests! The evening was full of laughter and energy, thanks to their amazing DJ Steve with Event Concepts. He kept the party alive and rocking with an epic lip-sync battle that had everyone on their feet and screaming their favorite lyrics; it was such a blast! Alex and Jarah’s day was full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. We’re so honored to have been part of it and to have captured memories they’ll cherish forever. Congratulations Alex and Jarah, here’s to your happily ever after!
