Outdoor Weddings at Reunion Resort Orlando

Caitlyn and Keaton’s wedding day has been a long day coming for photographer Steven and Nelson! Unfortunately, their original wedding day last year was postponed due to the pandemic, and, like many weddings, it’s been an adventure getting everything back on track ever since. We actually met these two through one of our previous (and amazing!) couples, and from the moment we met, we knew we were going to also become friends. We insisted that they stay in touch with us along the way through the pandemic, which only brought us all closer as we finally got to the big day! To say we were excited to get started that morning is a big understatement! :)

We began the day capturing their wedding day preparations in their rented Reunion homes near Reunion Resort, very close to Traditions! The homes were huge and spacious, giving us more photo ops than traditional hotel rooms for sure! Caitlyn and Keaton booked two photographers on their wedding day, so Steven and Nelson could spend time with each of them separately pre-ceremony; a big benefit of two photographers! Caitlyn was having her hair/makeup finished by Kristy’s Artistry Design Team, and floral arrangements from In Bloom Florist had just arrived! Nelson found Keaton and his boys playing arcade games and watching movies in their home…LOL. Once they were both ready (we still think Keaton won), we captured their bridal party photos separately, so they wouldn’t see each other and cross paths. We then separately traveled to the Traditions Restaurant and hid them in their holding rooms (check out Keaton’s…), for a few last minute touch ups and ‘reps’. It was time for their ceremony!

Their beautiful ceremony setup was right on the golf course in front of Traditions, laced with In Bloom’s gorgeous floral arrangements. Florida was being a bit unfashionable that afternoon with some chilly weather, so check out the cute blankets they provided to their guests since the wedding ceremony was outside! Before and after the ceremony, harp and violin pieces were performed by Total Entertainment by Matt Winter. They walked down the staircase and down the aisle for their processional, and their youth group leader Lori officiated their ceremony in front of their family and friends. Did you notice who their ring bearer was? They also included the ring exchange, personal vow exchange, and also a unique twist on a sand ceremony, with colored stones! They sealed their marriage vows with the big kiss (and a dip!), and we then captured their family and bridal party portraits on the course quick, as it was getting quite chilly for everyone!

Reunion provided shuttles for all of their guests, heading back to Reunion Resort into the Grande Ballroom for their indoor wedding reception. Before we headed inside, we did sneak Caitlyn and Keaton away in a golf cart for a few last portraits around the property. It was pretty cold outside, so we kept these quick, and got them warmed back up inside before introductions! We always love working with Meister Productions for so many reasons; for instance, they lit the ballroom beautifully with their amber uplights, which gave the ballroom such a romantic glow! Check out the beautiful wedding cake created by Cake & Bake, and their wedding snacks by Krispy Kreme Donuts. We loved their theme and decor around the room, and check out their golf ball ‘guestbook’! After all of the formal dances and dinner, it was party time! Meister Productions rocked the music and kept the dance floor packed, especially for a few special songs like Bohemian Rhapsody! We did sneak the couple out one last time for some fun night portraits in front of Reunion Resort before their grand sparkler sendoff! We have to give a special thanks to Ellis and her team with Just Marry for their wedding day planning and coordination, and to Kono in Orlando for helping watch Koop, their super silly golden retriever! It was pretty hard to say goodbye to them at the end of the night, since we’ve built such a great friendship with them! However, we know we’re going to see them again, and again, and again 😊.
