Club Lake Plantation Wedding Venue Photographer

Summer and Mike’s wedding day was an incredible one for wedding photographer Steven Miller and assistant Sam. For starters, we connected with them and their adventurous spirit during their engagement session. They signed up for one of our signature Starry Night Sessions, taking them to a designated dark sky location to be photographed under a dark, star-filled sky! We connected in such a close way during that session, and seeing them again on the wedding day was like seeing best friends after a short time away! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they got married at one of our favorite wedding venues, Club Lake Plantation in Apopka!

Summer arrived from her wedding preparations venue, Hampton Inn & Suites Apopka, and we visited both her and Mike in their respective bridal suites on property. Did you know the groom’s getting-ready room is actually a converted horse stable, how cool is that?! Summer’s bridal hair and makeup services were provided by The Studio Salon in Clermont. Their gorgeous wedding flowers created by In Bloom Florist arrived shortly after we did, and once Summer and Mike were ready, we photographed their sweet first look! Club Lake Plantation has a creative doorway within their Secret Garden, so we had Summer and Mike stand on either side of the door, and on the count of 3, we had Mike open the door, and see his beautiful bride for the first time on the wedding day! From there we captured a first look with Mike’s daughters, and fun portraits with their bridal party and personal portraits around the beautiful venue!

Their wedding ceremony was held outside under Club Lake Plantation‘s iconic trellis. Check out the hilarious and cute signs that the flower girls and ring bearer walked with during the processional! Personal friend Jennifer Rigsby Pokallus officiated their ceremony, and we captured so many fun moments, including the ring exchange, vows, and a sand ceremony with their daughters before the big kiss! We followed their ceremony with family portraits, and more photos of Summer and Mike around Club Lake before heading back to the ballroom for reception details!

Their details were stunning, so many beautiful floral displays from In Bloom, and did you notice the Harry Potter ‘Always’ theme throughout the room?! We even noticed a star map gift for them from their maid of honor, what a fantastic idea! We love that some guests incorporated our dark-sky spirit into the wedding day :). Did you notice the amazing cupcakes baked by Allyson A Bakery? DJ Faith of Our DJ Rocks brought so much energy and music to the reception, and we have to thank Pisces Rising for the delicious wedding dinner and catering! Halfway through the wedding reception we snuck Summer and Mike out for some fun night portraits, and we can never thank them enough for giving us so much time for those! Goodness knows they had plenty of practice in Kissimmee Prairie Preserve under the night sky lol! At the end of the night, they shared a sweet moonlight dance, just the two of them, in the ballroom, and said goodbye to everyone through a fun sparkler sendoff! Special thanks to Kayla and her team at Bella Sposa Events for their incredible wedding planning and coordination throughout the day, we couldn’t have kept things on track as well without them! We will never forget the fun we’ve had with Summer and Mike through this wedding journey together, and we know this won’t be the last time we see them!
