Wedding Photographer Steven had such an amazing time capturing the wedding of Victoria and John at the Highland Manor in Apopka, one of our favorite, locally owned wedding venues! Victoria and John are definitely great friends with us now, as they took Steven on an amazing road trip to the Florida Panhandle for a dark sky portrait engagement session!! Steven began the day with Victoria at the upstairs bridal suite, with her bridal hair and makeup services provided by Beauty Brigade! As soon as she was done, we captured some pictures of her and her bridal party as they were getting her into her dress! Once we were done, we headed downstairs to meet with John to capture some detail shots of his groomsmen and best woman! We then put together their first look, where they could actually see each other before the wedding ceremony! Victoria and John could not wait to see each other, and it was such an emotional encounter with a lot of happy tears! From there, we captured the bridal party portraits and squeezed in some personal portraits before we headed to the ceremony under the big oak tree that Highland Manor is known for!
The outdoor ceremony was held under the picturesque Oak Tree at the Manor and it could not have been any more magical under the morning sun! Officiant, Rev. Ray Alonzo from A Beautiful Ceremony had Victoria and John read their vows and exchange their rings! But before they kissed, they held a special sand ceremony which incorporated sand from the locations of their family’s homes, Florida and New Jersey! After the I-Do’s and the much-awaited kiss, both Victoria and John walked up from their custom-made aisle runner that Victoria made (by hand!!) from Harry Potter book pages! Once the ceremony was over, we quickly began to gather the family for portraits along with the bridal party and concluded the session with bridal portraits of the couple!
The reception was held in the ballroom which was beautifully decorated by Bonny and her team at P.S I Love You Productions, with elegant ceiling draping by W Draping Florida! The ballroom also had small details incorporated throughout, highlighting the couple’s love for Harry Potter, such as themed cookies and the floral bouquets which were made by SirLushAlot (via etsy!)! DJ Mike from Weddings Only DJ Entertainment was so great to work with, helping coordinating introductions, first and parent dances, and of course keeping the dance floor jammin! During the reception we snuck them outside for a few extra portraits and made sure they were introduced to their new baby Pine tree! Once we were back inside it was time to enjoy the great food and drinks from the catering team at Dubsdread Catering followed by the cake cutting which was designed by Morgan Hunter Desserts & Design! After some great dancing, it was time to send the couple off with a wizarding wand goodbye!
However, the day did not end here! Victoria and John agreed to meet us later that night in Downtown Orlando for a light-painting portrait session with our photographer, Eric! It was SO fun adding fun, digital patterns around them with the beautiful downtown skyline behind them! We want to congratulate Victoria and John and thank them for letting us be a part of their special day!! You guys are definitely the best, and we better see you again soon!! :)
