We cannot be happier! Our very own wedding photographer, Michael proposed to his girlfriend Brianna and he couldn’t have put it together in a more unique, pure, and amazing fashion!
This idea came together over six months ago at a networking function where Courtney from Luxmore Grande Estate, Steven and Michael were discussing when he was FINALLY going to propose to his girlfriend! Michael always wanted it to be something special and he knew he wanted it documented. He knew how smart his girlfriend was and that she would have caught on quickly if she had to dress up and Steve was around with a camera, so he decided to stage a stylized photo shoot and Courtney graciously offered up her beautiful wedding venue Luxmore Grande Estate!
Over the course of the next few months, Michael planned every last detail, bought props and convinced his girlfriend, Brianna to be the model in the photo shoot! Of course, Michael doesn’t do anything ordinary and the list of details continued to grow, but once he told Rachael with Dandy Details Events, she was hooked and loved the idea! Rachael took the jumbled idea and made it look immensely better, coordinated vendors, and kept the nervous groom-to-be on schedule!
Brianna is an old soul and loves anything vintage, especially the 1920s! Therefore, the Luxmore Grande Estate was a perfect backdrop for this proposal! Michael and Rachael made sure that every last detail was as vintage as it could be including the dress from Orlando Vintage Clothing & Costume and the gorgeous antique ring from Monarch Jewelry! Brianna loves to craft as well, so she designed and made the earrings and necklace to resemble what would have been worn in that time period! She did an amazing job with them!
Just as Disney Imagineers sneak into certain rides and attractions they work on, Michael wanted to incorporate personal details that meant a lot to them into the inspirational photo shoot! He incorporated spirits from both California and Michigan, representing the two states each family is from! Brianna also lived in London for several months, so naturally Michael added a cup of tea and cookies on her vanity! He even bought an old book on the British Isles that he kept in his preparations room.
The big day finally came and Brianna went to a long time family friend at Salon Christophe to get her hair done while everyone at the Luxmore Grande Estate were preparing for the surprise! Once Brianna arrived on location, we took some photographs of her getting ready and some portraits of the happy couple together! We eventually made our way outside, Rachael ‘suggested’ they use a book as a prop in the next few photos. Little did Brianna know, the book was hand-painted by a dear friend of Brianna’s that included a landscape from the Hobbit (one of her favorite movies/books) and the words “Marry me. Marry me, my wonderful, darling friend.” A fitting saying from one of her favorite authors, Jane Austen. She of course said yes! Celebratory champagne and more pictures followed, including a few with a lovely display made by Florida Candy Buffets! To keep the theme going, Brianna held up a fancy tray resembling the cigarette trays from the 1920s!
We couldn’t have been more happy with how this whole day turned out! Steven commented that it was so cool to capture this moment for two people he has personal friendships with, rather than clients we typically hadn’t previously met; seeing everything coming together in a much more personal way! Thank you to Ryan on our team who drove out to help capture the details and the knee drop!! We also want to thank all of the vendors who helped out with this special day and make it exponentially smoother and more beautiful than we could have envisioned it! We wish the happy couple many more years together and we cannot wait to see the wedding pictures!
