We have been looking forward to this day since the moment Vanessa told us she was getting married! We met Vanessa through her family who was active in the wedding vendor industry here in Orlando. We initially captured her senior portraits a few years back, and we must’ve made such a great impression on her, because we were the first and only photographers she called once she became a fiance :). We captured their engagement session here in Orlando, and they were both sold on taking us with them to their destination wedding in Winchester, Kentucky!
We learned very quickly that this area of Kentucky is known for some gorgeous scenery, including historic distilleries, state parks, thick forests, and beautiful winding horse country! Vanessa and Justin held their ceremony and reception at their private home, which was right in the middle of the gorgeous, winding black fences in countryside; such a gorgeous setting for the wedding. Michael and Steven immediately appreciated the peaceful quiet surroundings, and the crisp chill in the air, a welcome change from our Florida summer!
We began the wedding day capturing Vanessa’s bridal preparations in their home, with Makeup By Jess providing her makeup services, and hair styled by Jessica Rose with Hair Nation! As Vanessa was finishing up, we took Justin outside for some quick prep portraits and to get him ready for their first look. We actually took him out to their long, scenic driveway, and had Vanessa walk up behind him and tap his shoulder! This prompted him to turn around, and…what an amazing reaction!! Justin may or may not have shed some tears, we can’t say ;). We then kidnapped the two of them, and with the help of their awesome wedding planner Daniel of Saige and Burlap, took them around the property, hopped in a car and traveled to the nearby red barn, and into the town of Winchester for some variety of backdrops! These two were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and were champs for traveling with us around Kentucky for these portraits LOL!
We returned back to the house and prepared for their outdoor wedding ceremony, underneath the beautiful trees in their front yard. While you’re in the reception photos, check out the beautiful family tree they created with photos from family members! Their ceremony was incredibly sweet, with a vow exchange, ring exchange, and of course the big kiss at the end! We followed their ceremony with family portraits, and a handful of other portraits, even with some of the family pets, before heading up to their outdoor wedding reception. The beautiful tent and decor was provided by Purdon’s Rentals, and their beautiful wedding cake was designed by Sweet Lilu’s Catering (not to mention the delicious wedding dinner!). Their wedding reception was full of special dances, laughs, spins, and a little bit of…rain. But there’s no better good luck charm on a wedding day than a little bit of rain, which is thankfully all we got! Throwdown Sounds did a great job getting everyone dancing and on their feet throughout the night! We snuck Vanessa and Justin out into the sprinkles to capture some awesome night portraits, check out how the rain was captured in their background! We seriously cannot thank these two enough for taking us on this wedding adventure with them; Kentucky was such a perfect setting for their big day, the weather was great, and we’ve never met a sweeter family to share the day with. Thanks again you two and see you again soon!!💕📷
