From day one, we knew that Rachel and Andrew were going to be a fun couple to photograph. As soon as they booked, they began talking about engagement session ideas with wedding photographer Michael, and they came up with the creative idea of underwater photography! From then on, we knew this was going to be a great adventure together! Their wedding day didn’t disappoint either, as it was our first time to Venue 520 on the Water in Downtown Sanford!
Before we could explore Sanford, though, photographers Michael and Nelson began the day at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where we met with Rachel and captured a few getting ready photos before their wedding ceremony. Laura Reynolds Artistry already had Rachel looking stunning with their hair/makeup services. 2nd photographer Nelson also grabbed a few prep photos of Andrew and his boys, check out those fun wedding socks! Their wedding ceremony, officiated by Father Glen Lopez, was so sweet, and actually shorter since they did not have communion. As soon as they exchanged their rings and the kiss, we captured family portraits, bridal party portraits, then explored the courtyard of the church for beautiful wedding portraits of the two of them! Most Precious Blood is surrounded by Little Big Econ State Forest, so there are so many natural backdrops around the property.
The portraits didn’t end there, we all proceeded over to 520 on the Water, and continued some portraits around downtown Sanford before it was time for reception! Notice the Hood St sign we photographed them under, that’s their new last name, so we felt it had to be captured! Of course, we had to make sure Andrew could sneak in a bit of fishing before introductions as well, as he does…;) Speaking of introductions, we always tell our couples that our photographers really pay attention, and we try to capture ALL moments of the wedding day. In this case, we even captured a few ‘slip ups’, if you know what we mean lol!! Catering was provided by Incredibly Edible Catering, and their wedding cake was actually a cookie cake from Sam’s Club! Shout out to DJ Dennis of VSI Networks for rocking their dance floor throughout the night! Their wedding reception was full of fun moments, including an impromptu chicken dance for Andrew’s mother-son dance, the shoe game, which we always recommend for laughs and smiles, and they still kept the party going late into the evening, even after Michael and Nelson said their goodbyes! We had the best time with Rachel and Andrew, and we hope we get to see them again soon, this was an incredible wedding day and we with them both the very best! Congratulations guys!
