We recently captured the awesome wedding of Jackie and Erik in Downtown Orlando! After capturing their engagement session, we knew this was going to be a fun couple. We received a joking email from the bride predicting rain on her wedding day, stating that we better be on our game! Haha, we would say the weather certainly worked out very well!
We began the day capturing Jackie’s preparations within her bridal suite at The Chapel at the Towers, a couple of streets away from Lake Eola. Once she was ready and wedding dress was tied, we proceeded upstairs to the top floor where the church was located for their indoor wedding ceremony. Their wedding ceremony included quite a few Filipino wedding traditions, considering Jackie’s Filipino family heritage. For instance, they had a presenter of Unity Coins (by the coin, or ring bearer), as well as the exchange of these blessed coins at the alter. They also had a white veil placed over their shoulders symbolizing their unity, as well as having a knotted cord over their heads and shoulders, representing their bond as one in their new life as a couple.
After the ceremony, we captured their family portraits, and took the wedding party outside for party portraits, and took advantage of a break in the clouds on this rainy day. We then captured personal portraits of just Jackie and Erik on the way to their indoor reception at 310 Lakeside Restaurant right on Lake Eola. Note the groom’s quick costume change halfway through the portraits. DJ Chuck Johnson of Classic Disc Jockeys rocked their reception with some kicking music, and their beautiful wedding cake was created by Anna Cakes. Floral arrangements were provided by Peddles, and bar and catering services were provided by 310 Lakeside’s Restaurant team. We were able to sneak out the couple during the reception to grab some fun night portraits in front of 310 Lakeside, and they didn’t even mind that it was raining. Of course, the couple also had to take a quick selfie with their guests before the end of the night!! Thank you to Jefferson of Chapel at the Towers and Hillary and her team at 310 Lakeside for their help with wedding coordination.
A big thank you to Jackie and Erik for choosing us to capture your special wedding day! Our team had an absolute blast with you, and we wish you both the very best!! Congratulations from the StevenMillerPix team!
